Just real quick I wanted to talk about the blossoming relationship that is Syd & Dean. Sure I could have put this in the big update but I though this deserved special recognition :)
So, just within the last few weeks Dean & Syd's relationship as brother and sister has really taken off! Generally speaking they have aways got along but recently they have finally started playing together. They will go into Syd's room and tend to her dolls and feed them and put them to sleep or go to Dean's room or the play room and construct lego skyscrapers...they have been attempted a few games of baseball.
It's so awesome to see this bond actually developing. It makes me think of what the future will be like...they both enjoy being with and playing with their friends but a brother or sister is truly a friend for life. Like any other relationship there will always be ups and down but in the end I hope that with Nick and my guidance they will grow up to have the kind of relationship that they will both really cherish and not take for granted. I really want then to be able to look back at all the good times together and hold a special place in their lives for each other. I know the relationship dynamic will change as Ry gets bigger and interacts with them more but for now its so cute to see them finally appreciate one another.
I think Syd put it best when she said...."Dean's my best fend"

Life's Updates
It's been way too long since our last post. A lot has happened/changed in the last three or so months. Let's see where to begin....well we finally moved. The new and much larger space has been good. The kids have space to run around (inside & out), daddy and mommy have a lot more to clean, we have been entertaining, more than anything just trying to get into a good routine and enjoy this time as a family together.
In general we have had a pretty hectic schedule lately. Here is our currently weekly routine...
Mondays - Nothing scheduled (Thank goodness!)
Tuesdays - Dean Speech Therapy ~10-11
Wednesday - Syd's Art Class ~ 9:30-10:30
Thursday - Dean Behavior Therapy ~ 9:30-10:30
Friday - Sydney Gymnastics ~ 9:30-10:30
Needless to say we have been pretty busy. Granted a few of these classes will be done in a few weeks time...at the moment it is go go go and all worth it. Since Dean has started his various therapy class he has shown some really good improvement. He still has a long way to go, but just to see his progression in the last two months is so awesome. It's amazing how quickly the brain absorbs these new skills and Dean is able to show an improvement. He went from only communicating with grunting and point (and a lot of crying) to now using several signs. He still has to be prompted for many of them but there are some he uses completely spontaneously...not always in the proper context but that's OK. Just the fact that he refused to use signs before and now regularly uses 3-4 has helped greatly. He currently uses....more, please, want, help, as well as an occasional thank you. Along with all that as well he has had a MAJOR growth spurt....he looks like quite the little man now-a-days....so handsome at that...with a personality to boot! :)
Now onto Syd, she too is growing like a weed! So tall and skinny. She's been growing her hair out for about a year now...she says's she wants it to be like "Tangled" and refuses to let us cut it, not even a trim which it desperately needs! Along with that she is an awesome big sister. A first born child for sure, she is very protective of both her brothers and likes to try to tell dean what to do (not that he listens too often, but she tries). She is loving her art class and looks forward to it every week. Several months ago she approached us about wanting to go to school!?!?!?!? We were kind of taken back when she actually ASKED to go to school...we just put it off at first but the request still continue to come so until we can figure out how we can make that happen we are trying to fill her time with other activities...speaking of which her progress in her gymnastics class has also been cool to see. She took one class last year but this year we enrolled her again and to see her progress from her first class to last class was astonishing. She is turning into such a beautiful independent young lady.
Well that leaves us with Ryan....oh that child! Been driving us a little crazy lately but I guess it comes with the territory. He is still a cutie-pie but when you combine is new level of mobility, his overly nosey personality and teething....he has turned into a bit of a handful. We have been taking it in stride but the sleep deprivation is getting to us and we hope that he goes back to sleeping through the night soon! Other than that though the little man has turned into quite a mobile child. He is now (and has been for about a month and a half now) a very seasoned roller...he can get just about anywhere he wants and this point...and manages to get into anything he can. He has scoots and pivots on his belly so all directions are fair game...he even manages to make it down the little step that we have from the playroom to the living room. Crawling is not very far in the horizon either, for the last week or so he can now get on all fours all by himself. You can see that he is desperately attempting to crawl (will lunge forward or stick out one leg behind him as if to start crawling) but has not just yet figured it out. Soon though!
Well I'm tired and that's all I can manage to document at this time but we promise not to let so much time pass. I made the mistake of only "mentally documenting" before and needless to say with three little ones those dates and events are long forgot...so I want to make sure to have a written record and not let anymore important things be forgotten. Till then....
